The beautiful Peloponnese and the Island of Spetses
Submitted by bugsly on Saturday, February 25, 2006 - 09:09 Boat | Car | Core | Foreign Language and Music Study | Greece | Walk

Today we woke up and got ready and packed for our first island, Spetses, where we will be staying for the weekend. Driving through the area called Peleponnese was simply gorgeous and quite relaxing. Our friend Kostas took us to a town called Nafplio for lunch and then Italian ice cream. It was delicious! We walked around the little town and plucked a couple of oranges off of the trees. Michael and I swung on the swings for a while in the wind before we returned to our driving.

We arrived at Kostas’ girlfriend Evi’s family home near Spetses to say hello and have a cup of tea. Then we took a fast boat taxi over a short stretch of water to the island of Spetses where Kostas and Evi helped us get settled in our hotel. They left for the evening, promising to come back in the morning. We had dinner at a nice taverna, walked a bit and went to sleep.
