The Leaning Tower of Pisa
Submitted by bugsly on Saturday, March 18, 2006 - 01:42 Car | Core | Foreign Language and Music Study | Italy | Physical and Health Education | Walk

We hopped in the car this morning and headed to the nearby city of Pisa. As you may have guessed, Pisa is the home of the Leaning Tower. There are little signs painted on the streets all over the city directing you to the Tower and Cathedral. Upon arriving you see one of the oddest sights in your life. A tower at the wrong angle. It’s really fun to get your picture taken holding up the Tower from a perspective point of view.

Walking to the top is a very strange feeling because at one point, while you are walking up the stairs, you are actually going downhill. From the top you can see all of Pisa. It is a beautiful view and when you look at the horizon, it isn’t straight. Inside the cathedral and the baptistery, are many stained glass windows, golden icons, and lots of marble. It is all very beautiful, but you have to admit that the Tower is the most impressive.
